Way back in January, we reported that Apple would be bringing out update to iOS that would let you stop the company from throttling your iPhone. Well, it's finally arrived in the form of iOS 11.3. So, first things first, make sure your iPhone is upgraded to iOS 11.3, now go to Settings and scroll down to the Battery option and tap. This is where you will find the new menu labelled "Battery Health". In here you'll discover the current state of your battery, its health and consequently get an idea on the lifespan of your iPhone. Don't be put off by the fact that Battery Health is still in Beta stage, and therefore Apple hasn't quite got all the kinks ironed out. Crucially, however, this menu is also where you have the ability to prevent Apple from slowing down your iPhone if it doesn't have optimal battery health. First check your phone battery’s maximum capacity – this is represented as a percentage and denotes its ability to hold power compared to how it could when it was brand new. Now, lithium-ion batteries lose their efficiently over time and are affected by all manner of things including the temperature at which you keep your phone and how often you charge it. As a result, all phone batteries will degrade, and so this is where you go to check how your battery is doing. If you have 100 per cent? Happy days. But the lower the percentage, the less time your battery has for this world.

Microsoft recently began rolling out a fresh set of firmware updates to the Surface Pro (2017). Available for both the standard Surface Pro and Surface Pro with LTE, the updates resolve a potential security issue and improve battery reliability, Microsoft says.
Here's a look at what's new for Surface Pro:
However, checking our own Surfaces (including those on Windows Insider Program, Release Preview) are not seeing the System Aggregator Firmware (we already had the new UEFI update). That means this could be a slow rollout as Microsoft tests the waters. Source: windowscentral |
